Man shot to death overnight in St. Paul

The victim was found behind a home on the city's West Side, police said.

A man was shot to death early Monday morning in St. Paul, officials said Monday.

The shooting occurred in the 400 block of Clinton Avenue on the city's West Side, police said.

Police have yet to disclose the man's identity, and no arrests have been announced.

According to police:

Shortly after midnight, a 911 caller reported a person down on the ground behind a home. Officers arrived and found a man had been shot.

The officers secured the scene while St. Paul Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man dead.

Police have yet to reveal details about the circumstances leading up the shooting.

In the meantime, a police statement said investigators are looking for any surveillance video from the scene.

There have been 29 homicides so far this year in St. Paul, according to a Star Tribune database. That compares with 31 at this time least year.
