Spring Grove, Minn., officials sounded an all-clear Friday night after responding to a phoned-in bomb threat by evacuating the town and locking down government offices.
Authorities in the southeastern Minnesota town of 1,330 said they received a call at 1:25 p.m. about possible explosives in a vehicle. The downtown area was cleared out by 6 p.m., and a bomb squad from St. Paul was called in to help.
Authorities closed off roads into town, evacuated downtown and locked down Houston County government buildings. County emergency management officials posted a Facebook warning for everyone to stay out of the area.
"We identified the vehicle we believed was involved in the incident," Spring Grove Police Chief Paul Folz said late Friday.
No explosives were found in the vehicle after the bomb squad used a mechanical robot to secure the vehicle.
Folz said authorities have made contact with the individual who made the initial call and are investigating.
