It is almost unthinkable, but a big Pacific storm has left "too much" snow onthe ski slopes of Mount Washington, B.C.The mammoth storm, which began in earnest on Christmas Eve, left more than 3meters, or 10 feet, of fresh snow on the Vancouver Island site.

News videos showed tunnels dug through the snow to reach first story condodoors. Snow even reached to second stories.

View Larger MapHoliday vacationers who reached the resort before the storm were stuck, as eventhe heavy-duty snow-moving equipment working to clear driveways and lots wasnot enough to keep up with the dump of snow.

Cars were buried and had to be found even before they could be dug out.

When the storm was over, the resort measured a snow depth of 520 cm, or 205inches. That it 17 feet.

Mount Washington lies on the eastern side of middle Vancouver Island west ofComox and about 100 miles northwest of the city of Vancouver.
