Sony PS3 getting bigger hard drive

Sony has just announced that it will introduce a PlayStation 3 system with a 250-gigabyte hard drive on Nov. 3. Price? $350.

Sony has just announced that it will introduce a PlayStation 3 system with a 250-gigabyte hard drive on Nov. 3. Price? $350. The larger-capacity PS3 will have the same slim form factor as the 120GB PS3 ($300; pictured), which Sony introduced on Sept. 1. That model sold more than 1 million units in its first three weeks, Sony said. (Actual game sales data for September should be released this evening by the industry-tracking NPD Group.) By the way, if you own a PS3, you owe it to yourself to play rthe new Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. It's cine-fantastic.

Update: NPD now says that due to last-minute difficulties, its monthly report will not be available until Monday.
