BD's Mongolian Grill raises money for CAC One of Burnsville's newest restaurants, BD's Mongolian Grill, raised $3,418 for the Community Action Council at its opening festivities last month. The Community Action Council is a nonprofit agency located in Burnsville that provides support to people and communities to prevent violence, ensure school success and promote long-term self-sufficiency.

"At BD's Mongolian Grill, we pride ourselves on giving back to the community," said BD's President and CEO Rodger Head. "Our corporate headquarters is based in Burnsville, and it's important that we can do our part to raise funds to support this great local organization."

Martin Paavola will co-chair group Martin Paavola of Otten & Seymour law firm of Burnsville has been named co-chairman of the New Lawyer section of the Minnesota Association of Justice, the firm announced.

The Minnesota Association for Justice brings lawyers together for training seminars and conventions to increase their expertise in practice areas. Paavola practices in the areas of personal injury and workers compensation.

Paavola, a St. Paul resident, is a graduate of the William Mitchell College of Law, St. Paul, and the College of St. Scholastica, Duluth.

ROSEMOUNT

Suzie's opening A new restaurant, Suzie's Kitchen, is now open in the Celtic Crossings strip mall, in a former Dunn Bros. location, according to owner Suzie Zick.

Zick, who previously operated a Quizno's franchise across the street from her new location, said the restaurant will offer "home-style" meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. "Here in Rosemount, there are not too many places to have a home-style cooked meal, especially breakfast," Zick said.

Estate-planning talk Jonay Meyer, an Edward Jones financial adviser in Rosemount, is offering an estate-planning seminar from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 16. Attendees will learn what to consider when creating a will, how to reduce taxes on an estate and more. The office is at 3420 W. 150th St., Suite 103. Call 651-322-2905.

Thomson Reuters to host IT job fair Thomson Reuters, the state's largest IT employer, is planning an IT career exploration fair in collaboration with a variety of local organizations. The fair will be from 8:30 to noon Saturday at its Eagan campus, 610 Opperman Drive. The event will include exhibits from area companies, presentations about IT careers and hands-on activities. High school students and their parents, as well as undecided college students, are invited.
