'Nutcracker' on tap at Performing Arts CenterThe Twin Cities Ballet of Minnesota will present "The Nutcracker" next weekend in four performances at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center.
The cast will consist of 120 dancers, including national and local professionals and ballet students from at least eight local dance schools.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with matinees at 3 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets range from $12 to $25 and are available at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center box office, 12600 Nicollet Av. in Burnsville, or through Ticketmaster at 800-982-2787 or www .ticketmaster.com. For more information, go to www.twincitiesballet.org.

Fiber arts exhibit opens Thursday"Serendipity," an exhibition by the Fiber Artists Study Group, will go on display Thursday through Jan. 8 at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center.
The show celebrates "the improvisational and playful aspects" of the Fiber Artists Study Group's members, with works ranging from quilting to sculptural art, silk fusion to paper fibers.
The exhibit opening is set for 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Arts Center's gallery, 12600 Nicollet Av. in Burnsville.
It is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays.
