SHAKOPEE, JORDAN AND PRIOR LAKE-SAVAGE

Members sought for diversity council The Shakopee, Jordan and Prior Lake-Savage school districts are looking for parents and others who want to serve on a council that will focus on integrating minority students into local schools.

The Multi-District Collaboration Council will take a look at policies and programs in each district and recommend ways to improve opportunities for minority children. The districts especially want to encourage minority residents to serve on the council.

The group will have six to eight evening meetings in the next five months. A meal and child care will be provided. The first meeting will be held Sept. 18 at the Prior Lake-Savage district office.

Students will show robot at State Fair The Eagan High School robotics team will show off its award-winning robot, "he Broominator," Thursday at the Minnesota State Fair. The team will give formal demonstrations at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the fair's Education Building.

Catholic school gets technology gift A private school in Eagan will benefit from a technology gift worth more than $12,000.

Faithful Shepherd Catholic School has been awarded a Wireless Classroom pilot program from the Toshiba Digital Products Division. The program comes with five laptops equipped with digital stylus pens, a wireless digital projector and support services to use the equipment.

The school, which serves students in kindergarten through 8th grade, was founded by the St. John Neumann and St. Thomas Becket parishes in Eagan, as well as St. Peter's in Mendota.
