Southern California Heating Up

A burst of summerlike warmth is on the way for Southern California into earlynext week. The jet stream will remain located well north of the area and bottleup any available cold the next several days. High pressure off the Californiacoast will add to the warmth by delivering warm, offshore flow of winds.High temperatures will warm into the middle and upper 70s at the beachesover the weekend into Monday with lower to middle 80s inland and temperaturesinto the lower 90s in the deserts. These temperatures will be running as highas 15 to 20 degrees above normal.

The area will only see a slight break from the mild weather by midweek withabove-normal temperatures continuing.
