Three Minnesotans are among four recipients of this year's Lester Patrick Trophy, for service to hockey in the United States.

The honorees were named by the National Hockey League on Thursday. They are Bob Naegele, a Minnetonka native who was the Wild's original owner; Brian Burke, who was raised in Edina and is general manager of the Anaheim Ducks; and Phil Housley, a native of South St. Paul who played 21 years in the NHL as defenseman.

The fourth recipient is former Detroit Red Wings star Ted Lindsay. The group will be honored at a luncheon in St. Paul in October.

• The Minnesota Thunder edged USL First Division co-leader Charleston 2-1 on a penalty kick by Alen Marcina in the 82nd minute at the National Sports Center on Thursday.

• Minnesota State Mankato will add four to its Athletics Hall of Fame and three to its Hall of Distinction on Oct. 6. The new Hall of Fame members are Dan Baumgartner, Monte Dufault, Weston Weber and Jodi Wendt. The Hall of Distinction members are Marge Burkett, Pam Macias and Rob Schabert.
