St. Cloud police, BCA investigating 2 suspicious deaths

A woman was found dead Wednesday in an apartment, another was found on the side of the road Thursday.

ST. CLOUD – The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating two suspicious deaths in St. Cloud.

St. Cloud police were called just before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to investigate a report of a deceased woman in an apartment in the 1400 block of 12th Avenue N., according to a news release from Assistant Chief Jeff Oxton.

The victim, Janesa Lashay Harris, 28, lived in the apartment. She had been shot, and her death is being investigated as a homicide.

Officers responded to another suspicious death at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. A woman's body was found in a secluded area by the road in the 4300 block of Cooper Avenue S., just north of Interstate 94.

Oxton said it is unknown whether the two deaths are connected.
