St. Thomas women sweep into D-III basketball Final Four

Kaitlin Langer scored 18 points and had a career-high 19 rebounds to lead No. 2-ranked St. Thomas over Whitman (Wash.) 65-48 in an NCAA Division III women's quarterfinal Saturday at Schoenecker Arena.

The Tommies remained undefeated, setting a program record with their 31st victory. The Blues fell to 26-5.

St. Thomas was 7-for-21 on three-point attempts, the Blues 0-for-15. Lucia Renikoff's three-pointer gave the Tommies a 33-23 lead at halftime.

The win puts St. Thomas (31-0) in the national semifinals for the sixth time — its last trip was in 2012. The Tommies will play No. 3 Tufts (Mass.) on Friday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
