As is the case at sports venues everywhere, it's remarkably easy to burn through a ton of cash at the new ballpark.

Start with $3.75 for a hot dog, $5 for a brat. Soft drinks cost a minimum of $4, while a beer goes for $7.50.

More exotic fare is even more expensive. An asian stir-fry costs $8.50, a Cuban sandwich has a $9 sticker. A cheeseburger (granted, with fries) will set you back $9.25.

For those who want to keep score, a scorecard costs a buck - and a pencil to fill it out runs 50 cents.

The Twins did hand out one freebie to every paying customer Monday: The Original Opening Day Homer Hankie, evoking the team's championship runs in 1987 and 1991.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
