School: Florida Position: Quarterback Stats: 3,132 yards passing and 29 TDs; 838 yards rushing and 22 TDs. Why he'll win: His numbers are simply mind-boggling, especially in the best conference. Why he won't: Might get penalized for only being a sophomore and his team lost three games and isn't playing in a BCS bowl game. 2. DARREN MCFADDEN
School: Arkansas Position: Running back Stats: Fourth nationally in rushing at 1,725 yards and 15 touchdowns. Why he'll win: He's a game-breaking talent who impressed voters with a huge game against LSU. Why he won't: He had a subpar performance against Auburn and needed a late burst to make up ground in the race. 3. CHASE DANIEL
School: Missouri Position: Quarterback Stats: Completed 69.7 percent of passes for 4,170 yards and 33 TDs. Why he'll win: Fiery leader led Missouri within one victory of reaching the BCS title game. Why he won't: Needed a huge performance in the Big 12 championship game to have a chance but fell short against Oklahoma. 4. COLT BRENNAN
School: Hawaii Position: Quarterback Stats: Completed 71 percent of his passes for 4,174 yards and 38 touchdowns; NCAA's career leader in TD passes. Why he'll win: Led Warriors to an undefeated season and a ticket to the Sugar Bowl. Why he won't: Time-zone difference and voters will penalize him for being in pass-happy system.
