Now open: Bay Street Shoes & Accessories What: It's not new, but the locally owned boutique has relocated across the hall from its original spot (after 30-plus years) in Calhoun Square.

Shop: Everything from boots to sandals for men and women, with recognizable labels such as Frye, Camper, Ugg, Jeffrey Campbell and Donald J. Pliner. The new location also brags a collection of affordable jewelry and a sprawling "back room" filled with discounted merchandise.

Don't let the name fool you, Nola Home (404 Penn Av. S., Mpls., 612-374-4066) has jewelry. On Saturday (1 to 4 p.m.), meet local jewelry designer Sara Hauge of Ixion/Kismet Designs. In addition to shopping her line of one-of-a-kind creations, if you bring your vintage or heirloom pieces, she'll rework them into a more modern creation. If you miss the event, you can shop her designs exclusively at Nola Home.

The Regis-owned men's salon Raze opened a second location this week at the Shops at West End (1683 West End Blvd., St. Louis Park, 763-546-1140, www.raze.com. Services include a haircut, shampoo, hot towel and finish ($30), gray blending ($30) and hair removal ($12). Waiting? There's free Wi-Fi and complimentary shoeshines. If the new shopping development's parking were more convenient and easier to navigate, we ladies would be really jealous.

The whole family can check out the Peter Millar trunk show at Twill by Scott Dayton (Galleria, Edina, 952-922-2711). On Friday and Saturday, you can shop the entire selection of spring merchandise for women, kids and accessories, including items not typically in the store. For men, the blazer ($595) is an important investment, and they'll show you all sorts of ways to wear it.

Down the hall, there's a Lafayette 148 trunk show at DUGO (Galleria, Edina, 952-746-4440). The spring line, designed by the dynamic Edward Wilkerson, will be available for ordering. It includes both day and evening wear, and sizes range from petite to 3X.

Warm up your wardrobe with the "pack a stylish suitcase" sale at Corset boutique (715 Mainstreet, Hopkins, 952-224-2495). Through March 31, buy one spring item and get a second (of equal or lesser value) at 50 percent off. The shop also offers full styling services, so it will literally help you fill your suitcase with fresh looks on your budget.

Tickets are still available for the annual American Girl Fashion Show at the Golden Valley Country Club. The show features local girls, ages 5 to 12, in clothes and accessories from the current American Girl Fashion line. Tickets are available online (www.jlminneapolis.org) for the shows, including a VIP event on Friday (6 p.m., $50 per person), Saturday (10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., $35) and Sunday (10 a.m. and 1 p.m., $35). Proceeds benefit the Junior League of Minneapolis.

Lilly Pulitzer (sort of) comes to town When it starts to feel like spring, it's a good time to brighten up your wardrobe. One surefire way to do it is with Lilly Pulitzer's iconic line. The collection, which started in Palm Beach in the 1950s, includes plenty of bold florals and preppy cuts from dresses to skorts.

On Saturday, the local signature store Melly (10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Galleria, Edina, 952-929-9252) kicks off the spring season with a visit from Janie Schoenborn, the label's current design director. At 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., she'll give short presentations about the collection.

If you spend more than $500 during the event, you'll receive a handmade custom print by Schoenborn.
