Former Twins infielder Orlando Cabrera batted .286 for Cleveland in April, with 16 RBI, but he was batting .213 since May 1, when the Indians promoted the switch-hitting Cord Phelps from Class AAA Columbus. The Indians are desperate for offense, so these two will share playing time at second base.

Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas are exciting prospects, but if Kansas City is going to fully turn the corner, the Royals will need more from Luke Hochevar, the first overall pick from the 2006 draft. He reached a new low June 4, when he couldn't stop a Twins lineup missing Denard Span, Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Jason Kubel and Jim Thome in a 7-2 loss.
