A suspect has been arrested in the shooting death Friday of a person in the village of Luck in western Wisconsin, authorities said.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, 911 dispatchers received a call shortly after 5 p.m. about a gunshot victim in the 600 block of E. Butternut Avenue. Officers found a body at that location, and then found and arrested the suspect.

Authorities continued to investigate Saturday but said there was no threat to public safety. The name of the victim was being withheld pending notification of family members.

Luck police and fire, the Milltown Police Department, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Polk County Medical Examiner's Office assisted in the case.
