ST. CLOUD – Taylor Heise scored 33 seconds into the game and finished with a hat trick, and the Gophers women's hockey team beat St. Cloud State for the 17th time in a row, winning 4-0 Sunday at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

Heise scored her second goal with four minutes left in the first period, and she completed her hat trick by scoring with 2:04 remaining in the game. She now has five goals on the season. Emily Oden and Abbey Murphy assisted on all three Heise goals.

"Heise, Oden and Murphy, their line was tremendous again tonight," coach Brad Frost said.

Taylor Wente made it 3-0 in the second period, while Lauren Bench made 16 saves for her second shutout of the season for the No. 2 Gophers (8-1 overall and WCHA).

Sanni Ahola stopped 33 shots for the Huskies (2-7), who lost to the Gophers for the third time in four days. The Gophers won 2-1 on Thursday and 4-1 on Saturday, with both those games at Ridder Arena.

"We feel really good about these last three games," Frost said.

The Gophers' next games are Friday and Saturday at No. 1 Wisconsin. It's possible their rankings will be flipped Monday; the Badgers (4-2) split a weekend series at home with Ohio State, losing 2-1 Saturday.
