Gary Burton, Danilo Perez, Deodato headed to Twin Cities Jazz Fest

Those are the big names for the June 24-25 free event in downtown St. Paul.

Danilo Perez Photo by Jeff Forman Gary Burton, Danilo Perez and Deodato are the big names booked so far for the 13th annual Twin Jazz Festival June 24-25 at Mears Park in downtown St. Paul. Vibes giant Burton will bring his quartet, featuring guitarist Julian Lage, drummer Antonio Sanchez and bassist Jorge Roeder. Perez, the Panamanian pianist who has long lived in Boston, will headline the second night. Appearing before him will be Deodato, the Brazilian keyboardist best remembered for the 1973 funk hit version of "Also Sprach Zarathustra." The shows are free.
