Terrapins stop Hoosiers for berth in title game

INDIANAPOLIS – Diamond Miller scored 15 points, Ashley Owusu added 14 and top-seeded Maryland advanced to the championship game of the Big Ten women's basketball tournament with a 66-51 victory over fourth-seeded Indiana on Saturday.

Kaila Charles had 11 points and eight rebounds, and Stephanie Jones had nine points and 12 rebounds for the Terrapins, who outrebounded the Hoosiers 44-31. Sixth-ranked Maryland led 28-24 at halftime but pulled away with a 22-9 third quarter.

The Terrapins had a 31-10 advantage in bench points and outscored No. 20 Indiana 15-0 on fast-break points.

Ali Patberg led Indiana with 16 points but shot only 6-for-21 from the floor. The Hoosiers shot 32.8 percent.

Maryland has played in the final every year since joining the Big Ten.
