TFD: Is faking a handshake and dunking a jerk move, an awesome move, or both?

December 4, 2014 at 10:43PM

Above, you see the end of a recent men's college basketball game between Portland and Portland State, who we imagine are the FIERCEST OF RIVALS (video linked here just in case).

Portland is up 14 in the waning seconds, just dribbling out the clock. Then Portland State's Bryce White approaches the ball-handler for what looks like a handshake and hug.

Instead, he pokes the ball away, goes down and dunks with 1.4 seconds left. His team loses by 12 instead of 14.

Now, per this, Portland State opened as a 12.5-point underdog. So if you bet on this game at that spread, you were VERY interested in that final play.

But taking that element out of the equation: Is that a jerk move, an awesome move, or a little bit of both?
