The cast of unknowns in the critical and audience fave "Beasts of the Southern Wild" have been ruled ineligible for the SAG Awards because the film was not made under the SAG Low-Budget Feature Agreement, which mandates the use of professionals. The ruling could prove a stumbling block to the film's Academy Awards chances, as the SAGs and Oscars often mirror one another. But somehow we think we'll be seeing young Quvenzhané Wallis come Oscar time.

The final reel Adele has written and recorded the theme to the upcoming James Bond offering "Skyfall." ... "Hitchcock," starring Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren, will have its premiere Nov. 1 at the AFI Fest. ... Danny Strong (TV's "Game Change") will write the script for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay." ... Benedict Cumberbatch is the new top choice (replacing Jeremy Renner) to play WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. ... Scott Rudin and Sony are mulling a "True Grit"-style screen version of "Little House on the Prairie." ... Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson are back for the "Captain America" sequel "The Winter Soldier."
