Three brothers were hospitalized, two of them with critical injuries, after the off-road vehicle that one of them was operating collided with a pickup truck in west-central Minnesota, officials said.

The crash occurred about 3:50 p.m. Sunday about 20 miles northwest of Willmar in Norway Lake Township, the State Patrol said.

An online fund-raising campaign started on behalf of the boys' New London, Minn., family said the Dahl brothers need "all the prayers and support they can get. Three of their boys, were in an accident and are needing extensive medical care. ... They have a long road to recovery. The funds raised will be used to help with covering the expenses they will incur."

An older brother, age 15, was driving the Ranger utility task vehicle and was among the hospitalized. The two younger brothers, suffering from life-threatening injuries, were taken by emergency medical responders to a hospital in Minneapolis, the patrol said.

The older brother also was taken to a Minneapolis hospital, but his condition has not been disclosed, according to the patrol.

The patrol also has declined to release the boys' identities.

The Ranger was heading south on NW. 95th Street and collided with a pickup that was heading east on Hwy. 9, the patrol said. Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow said the investigation continues into which driver had the right of way.

The pickup's driver, 40-year-old Matthew L. Anderson of Sunburg, Minn., was not hurt, according to the patrol.
