NEW YORK — Millions of golf fans might not be able to watch Tiger Woods protect his lead this weekend at the Bridgestone Invitational because of a dispute between Time Warner Cable and CBS.
Three million Time Warner Cable customers in and around New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Boston, Pittsburgh, Denver and Detroit lost access to CBS programming Friday as the cable provider dropped the network in a dispute over fees.
Woods shot 61 in the second round of the Bridgestone at Akron, Ohio, to take a seven-shot lead into the final two rounds of the World Golf Championships event.
CBS is scheduled to broadcast the final two rounds Saturday and Sunday. Next week, the network is set to show the PGA Championship at Oak Hill in upstate New York.
