On Aug. 31, 1997, Diana, Princess of Wales, was killed after the car she was riding in crashed in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris; her partner Dodi Fayed and driver Henri Paul (who was found to have been intoxicated at the time of the accident) also died.
