Today's trophy tale: Insistence to fish pays off with big walleye
"It was not a normal morning fish at the historic Lunker Lodge on beautiful Roosevelt Lake in Emily, Minn. The boat's trolling motor wasn't charged, gas tank was empty, rods and tackle were strewn about, and the minnows actually died the night before. The boat's captain didn't want to go out for these reasons, but the real fisherman, Casey Dornbach, insisted. The captain started out front of Lunker Lodge and trolled in 6-8 feet of water along shore. Within three minutes, Casey locked on to a "thud" and reeled in this monster with his 4-pound-test line. That's when we realized we had no net! But Ms. Walleye succumbed to the fight, and I grabbed it. After a few photos, Casey released it. And so goes fishing … Minnesota Style.''
