Obnoxious stage-brats with grossly exaggerated notions of their own preciousness and importance aren't new; Nathanael West wrote a memorable portrait of one in "Day of the Locust" back in the 1930s. If you ever wanted to know how these kids are manufactured, and whether mothers trying to live their lives through tiny offspring might be involved, watch this.

It starts tonight on TLC, which has renamed itself to "Terrible Little Children."
