As you like it

Film buffs will love two very different approaches to William Shakespeare from two very different innovators. First up, Orson Welles' 1948 interpretation of "Macbeth" (7 p.m.) with a heavier-than-usual emphasis on the Witches and a particularly gruesome death of our hero. That's followed by Laurence Olivier's more traditional take on "Hamlet" (9 p.m.), which earned him and the picture Academy Awards (also from 1948).

Origin story

If you're as foggy as I am about your time in utero, maybe "9 Months That Made You" will refresh your memory. This three-part series uses the latest in science to reveal how we spent those very "formative" months in mother's belly. The lingo may go over youngsters' heads, but on the other hand, it could be a gentle way to ease into that awkward birds-and-the-bees talk.

9 p.m. TPT, Ch. 2

Keeping up with the Fosters

"Barely Famous," the underrated satire of Hollywood "reality" TV, returns for a second season with real sisters Erin and Sara Foster still trying to negotiate their way up to the C-list. Look for cameos in upcoming episodes from Chris Martin, Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba and Chelsea Handler.

9 p.m. VH1
