Trio charged with 2nd-degree murder in St. Paul man's shooting death

Three men involved in a fatal gun battle Sunday night in St. Paul were charged Tuesday with second-degree murder.

Larry Joseph Thompson Jr., 28, and Michael Lyman Sherman, 31, of St. Paul, are in custody with bail set at $250,000. Also charged was Robert John Sherman, 29, whom police are seeking and who has no known address.

Each was charged in Ramsey County District Court with one count of unintentional murder in the death of Roberto Flores, 38, of St. Paul.

A fourth shooting suspect was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday near Harris, Minn., after a two-hour, 45-mile police pursuit from Maplewood.

The fatal shooting happened in the 400 block of Case Avenue E.

The medical examiner found Flores bled to death from a gunshot wound to the chest.
