Greetings.
Here are a few things from Tuesday's practice:
--Defensive ends Ra'Shede Hageman and Matt Garin both sat out again due to mild ankle sprains. Both should be back in action next week. D.L. Wilhite and Kendall Gregory-McGhee were working with the first team defensive line.
--Kenny Watkins has moved into the first-team safety spot in place of the suspended Kyle Theret.
--I watched the Gophers working on some short –yardage stuff, with tight ends Eric Lair and Tiree Eure in two-TE formations. That's a lot of size, let me tell you.
--Linebacker Gary Tinsley (hamstring) was in full pads Tuesday.
--It was a well-attended practice, with a few members of the Big Ten Network up to watch.
Here is a post-practice update:
Hageman's issue is with his hamstring, not his ankle. Both he and Garin are expected back next week.
Coach Tim Brewster said Nick Rengel's future with the program is uncertain. Rengel is inot practicing with the team. "Nick is working through some things right now," Brewster said. "He's in school. Hopefully he'll be a part of the program."
The Timberwolves’ bench depth hasn’t been tested this year, but their bench quality has been a huge asset. It was on display once again in a comfortable win over Charlotte on Monday.
