As brought to my attention by the Star Tribune's Randy Johnson: The Gophers football team now has Tyler Moore (center) snapping the ball to Conor Rhoda (QB). That's quite an homage to "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," which of course has plenty of local ties.

Each Wild game this season has the potential to take you on a roller-coaster ride of emotions. If you're not properly prepared, I cannot advocate watching Kings vs. Wild at 7 p.m. on FSN.

E-mailer Chris suggests an alternative to the Chicago road trip I proposed a couple weekends from now. He likes this one this weekend: Saturday, Wild at Devils; Sunday afternoon, Vikings at Eagles; Sunday evening, Wild at Islanders. One problem, that Sunday Wild game is a 6 p.m. (Eastern) start. Tough to make it on time after a Vikings game in Philadelphia that should end about two hours earlier.
