TV critic's picks for June 17-19

"Paranormal Challenge," "Falling Skies"

June 16, 2011 at 7:41PM

Ghost busters In "Paranormal Challenge" (8 p.m. Friday, Travel) two teams of ghost hunters try to out-collect the competition in a haunted house. It would have been three teams, but the Scooby Doo Mystery Van was disqualified for steroid use.

E.T., go home Those years of being yelled at on "ER" have toughened up Noah Wyle. He's a highly effective survivor of an alien invasion in "Falling Skies" (8 p.m. Sunday, TNT), warding off Transformer-like enemies, renegade earthlings and romantic longings in this action-packed series executive-produced by Steven Spielberg.

Father and child reunion Neither Ryan O'Neal nor Tatum O'Neal has had a juicy role in decades, which may explain why they're willing to expose their fragile personal lives in "Ryan & Tatum: The O'Neals" (9 p.m. Sunday, OWN), a reality show that includes a scene in which the daughter practically pimps out a teenage girl to her dad. It only gets creepier.

Morgan Almighty Clint Eastwood, Helen Mirren, Sidney Poitier and Rita Moreno are among the stars bowing down to a colleague in "The AFI Life Achievement Award Honoring Morgan Freeman" (8 p.m. Sunday, TV Land). Since it's airing on TV Land, we're expecting at least 20 minutes devoted to his majestic role as Easy Reader on "Electric Company."NEAL JUSTIN
