TV critic's picks: Friday

150th episode of "Family Guy"

April 29, 2010 at 8:56PM

Great gig in the sky Those who can't wait for Roger Waters' October performance of "The Wall" in St. Paul might be appeased by "Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon Live: Pulse" (8 p.m. Friday, VH1 Classic), which captures a 1994 concert of the entire album. That's preceded by the documentary "Pink Floyd: Which One's Pink?" (6:30 p.m., VH1C).

Wide, wide world In the second installment of "Into the Universe With Stephen Hawking" (8 p.m. Sunday, Discovery), the brilliant scientist explains how everything in the world happened. This sounds like our best chance to get a grip on the existence of "Jersey Shore."

Trapped! The idea of two bickering TV characters trapped together is nothing new, but leave it to "Family Guy" (8 p.m. Sunday, KMSP, Ch. 9) to provide its own irreverent spin when Brian and Stewie are locked in a vault. This one-hour episode, the series' 150th, will also feature fan-favorite musical numbers and some never-before-seen dance steps.

Dave's world David Letterman makes a rare appearance in the daylight when he stops by "Live With Regis and Kelly" (9 a.m. Friday, KSTP, Ch. 5). During his regular gig, "The Late Show With David Letterman" (10:35 p.m. Friday, WCCO, Ch. 4) he welcomes the Hold Steady and, for the first time, soccer great David Beckham.
