News update

It's been nearly a decade since we were told to stay classy in "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" (8 p.m., HBO Zone), so take time to reacquaint yourself with the world's most inept news team before the sequel hits theaters in December.

Walking the beat

"The Bridge" (9 p.m., FX) debuted too late to be eligible for the 2013 Emmy race, but it would be an international crime if Demian Bichir doesn't make the cut next year for his nuanced work as a police officer trying to keep his head above water while investigating murders on the U.S.-Mexico border. Yes, Jon Hamm and Bryan Cranston are great, but let's start including Bichir in the conversation about our best TV actors.

Mr. Moms

Seems like befuddled, stay-at-home fathers don't only exist on tepid sitcoms. The new docu-series "Modern Dads" (9:30 p.m., A&E) follows six pops in Austin, Texas, trying to raise their children without losing their manhood. "Modern Family's" Phil Dunphy should put this one on his DVR list.
