People who need people

Jeff Bridges, Jennifer Aniston, Michael Keaton and Jennifer Lopez are among those expected to attend "The People Magazine Awards," with music from 5 Seconds of Summer and Maroon 5. 8 p.m. KARE, Ch. 11

On the road again

Often lost in the shuffle of the late-night wars is "Conan," mainly because his cable platform doesn't allow for as many high-profile guests. The show is still worth tuning in to, in large part because of the popular remotes. This prime-time special showcases some of the best from the past four seasons. 9 p.m. TBS

Final report

When Stephen Colbert introduced his self-centered conservative character on "The Colbert Report," I thought it was a clever bit that would quickly run out of ideas. That was nine years ago. The show, which wraps up its run so the host can take over for David Letterman next year, has been a pop-culture wonder with spectacular writing and sharp commentary. The fake Colbert will be missed. 10:30 p.m. Comedy Central
