Ushering in a new era

How many swinging chairs can America handle before getting dizzy? "The Voice" (7 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11) pushes its luck by returning quickly, with Shakira and Usher filling in for Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green. The new judges sound promising, but all this over-the-top singing has us craving a good old- fashioned silent film.

His cross to bear

Billy Zane has hopped off the Titanic and landed in biblical times for "Barabbas" (8 p.m., Reelz), a new movie about the guy Pontius Pilate set free while he sealed the fate of Jesus. The two-parter's conclusion airs at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Who turned out the lights?

Remember "Revolution" (9:01 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11)? NBC is sure hoping you do. The series, in which the world has lost its electrical power, showed promise when it kicked off the season, but when serialized dramas, even good ones, take a long break so early in their run, they usually pay a price. Even a lead-in like "The Voice" may not provide enough help.
