TV picks for Oct. 9: 'Braveheart,' '9 to 5,' 'How to Get Away With Murder'

When Scotland was considering its independence a couple of weeks ago, you probably saw clips of Mel Gibson as Willam Wallace in "Braveheart" a million times. Now see the Oscar-winning film in its entirety. In fact, see it twice! 4 & 8 p.m. IFC

While we impatiently wait for the new Netflix series starring Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda, let's take the opportunity to revisit 1980's "9 to 5," the landmark movie that proved that Fonda could play a wallflower and that Dolly Parton can act. Dabney Coleman nearly steals the show as the chauvinistic boss. (Is that song now ringing in your head? Sorry about that.) 6:30 p.m. Sundance

"How to Get Away With Murder" appears to be a significant hit, with more than 20 million viewers checking out the premiere episode. Viola Davis is a major talent and deserves the spotlight; I only wish it were in a drama that wasn't so darn silly. 9 p.m. KSTP, Ch. 5
