The votes are in on the first contestants excused from Fox Television's "So You Think You Can Dance," and Minnesota's Kourtni Lind lives to dance another week.

The season debut aired Wednesday night with Forest Lake's Kourtni Lind, 18, among the 10 men and 10 women trying to impress the viewing public.

Lind danced with 22-year-old Matt Dorame, who splits his time between Utah and Arizona. They did a jazz routine to Soft Cell's "Tainted Love."

Then Thursday night's episode revealed the first dancers eliminated -- Rayven Amijo, of La Puente, Calif., and Jamie Ray Bayard, of Palm Springs, Calif.

The next episode is Wednesday at 7 p.m. CDT.

Lind won her spot during an audition in Milwaukee. She graduated high school from St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists when she was 16 and took a year's worth of college classes at the University of St. Thomas during her junior and senior years.

In her official network bio, Lind said she has more than 15 years of formal dance training in contemporary, jazz, ballet and tap, and about five to six years of training in musical theater, pointe and hip-hop.
