KANSAS CITY — The Royals are trying to snap a nine-game losing streak tonight (7:10, BSN) when they start a three-game series at Kauffman Stadium against the Twins.

J.A. Happ (4-3, 5.83 ERA) will pitch for the Twins against Royals righthander Brady Singer (3-6, 4.70).

Kansas City has also had an 11-game losing streak this season, and is 17-38 since starting the season 16-11. It is last in the American League Central, 15 games behind Chicago ... but only a half-game behind the fourth-place Twins.

The Twins signed former major league pitcher Joe Harvey and assigned him to St. Paul today. The 29-year-old righthander has been in 22 major league games since 2019. He pitched for Class AAA Albuquerque this season and had a 2.63 ERA in 15 games before the Rockies DFA'd him on June 22. He pitched in four games for Colorado last season after making his major league debut for the Yankees in 2019.
