Twins update

The Twins (33-43), 11-8 in their past 19 games, are 16-20 in road games. On their last road trip June 14-20, they dropped two of three at Seattle before sweeping three games at Texas. … Maeda had been scheduled to pitch Saturday vs. Cleveland, but when that game was rained out the Twins pushed him back to Monday instead. … DH Nelson Cruz leads the team in home runs with 17, including a three-run shot Sunday, and in RBI with 42. Cruz, who turns 41 Thursday, has faced Giolito in 23 at-bats and has a .391 average with four home runs and six RBI against the righthander.

White Sox update

Chicago (45-32), after splitting two games with Seattle on Sunday, has lost seven of nine and now leads the AL Central by 2½ games over Cleveland. The White Sox are 5-1 against the Twins, including a sweep in Chicago last month. … White Sox starting pitchers lead the AL in ERA and strikeouts. … 1B Jose Abreu is listed as day-to-day after the AL MVP left Sunday's first game when his left knee was hit by a pitch. … OF Adam Engel was placed on the injured list Tuesday, meaning all the players projected to start in the outfield for Chicago at the start of the season (Engel, Adam Eaton, Eloy Jimenez and Luis Robert) are now on the IL.
