Three juveniles died in two separate ATV crashes Saturday in Minnesota, officials said.

Mason Lee Demenge, 13, of Chisago City, died after his ATV rolled over about 12:20 p.m., according to the Chisago County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrived at the crash site on Kale Avenue off Ivywood Trail in Lent Township, not far from Chisago City, to find the boy's condition was quickly deteriorating. Medics treated him at the scene before he was flown to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he was listed in critical condition.

Demenge later "passed away from his injuries sustained in the crash," according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office. He had been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, authorities said. There were no witnesses to the accident, which remains under investigation.

Later on Saturday afternoon, two 10-year-old girls were killed in an ATV crash in Afton, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

According to a news release, deputies and first responders went to the 1000 block of Neal Avenue S. in Afton about 5 p.m. and found the victims trapped under the ATV. They attempted lifesaving efforts before both girls were pronounced dead at the scene.

The names of the victims had not yet been released, but authorities said their families were been notified. The cause of the accident was under investigation as of late Saturday.
