Two men were shot and wounded during a brawl around 2 a.m. Saturday in downtown Minneapolis.

Police responded to a report that 30 to 40 people were fighting in the 400 block of 3rd Avenue N., according to a news release. At the scene, officers heard gunshots and found a man who had been shot in the ankle. During that time, another man showed up at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) after being shot in the arm.

Both men were treated at HCMC, the release said.

While on the scene, an officer's squad car was struck by another vehicle. The officer then fired once at the other vehicle, the release said. No one was injured.

Investigators interviewed witnesses at Minneapolis City Hall early Saturday, the release said. The Minneapolis Police Department's homicide and internal affairs units are investigating.
