Two Minnesota State colleges will have interim presidents to replace officials who have left or are retiring this year.

Stephanie Hammitt was named interim president of Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College on Wednesday by the Minnesota State system's board of trustees. Hammitt, who is now vice president of finance and administration, will start her new job in July following the retirement of President Larry Anderson, the board announced. She has been with the college for 27 years as an administrator and onetime board chairwoman.

Also Wednesday, Larry Lundblad was appointed interim president of Minnesota State College Southeast in Winona. Lundblad, who retired as president of Central Lakes College in 2016, will start his new job in February. The former president, Dorothy Duran, resigned in early January after nearly four years in office.

The search for permanent presidents at both colleges will begin this fall, officials said.
