St. Paul will open two off-leash dog parks this week, one near the Mississippi River in the Desnoyer Park neighborhood and the other next to CHS Field in Lowertown.

Ribbon will be cut at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Meeker Island Dog Park, a brand-new park near the St. Paul-Minneapolis border. The dog park can be reached through an entrance on N. Mississippi River Boulevard near Eustis Street.

The redesigned Lowertown Dog Park, located on Broadway Street next to CHS Field, will open Saturday. It was relocated while the ballpark was being built. The reopening of the dog park will be celebrated June 7 when the St. Paul Saints host a bring-your-dog-to-the-park night.

Including these two, St. Paul has four city-owned dog parks.
