Tyus Jones not just a spectator to younger brother Tre

Being home in recent days has allowed Jones to attend brother Tre Jones' past two Apple Valley games. That included an exciting, nationally televised game with Minnehaha Academy in which Tre — who is headed to Duke, where Tyus played in college — scored 39 but lost to a Jalen Suggs-led team 82-79. Apple Valley rebounded with a 81-73 victory over Minneapolis North on Saturday.

Turns out Tyus is more than just an interested spectator. He gives his brother constructive criticism after nearly ever game.

"I enjoy it, sit back and watch, then wait until after the game or the next to critique and talk about what he could have done differently,'' Tyus said.

It is input the younger brother wants; at times he will look into the stands during games, too.

"That's just our relationship,'' Tyus said. "We just want the best for one another.''

Tre, who attends many Wolves games, tries to give his big brother advice, too. But: "I just blow him off,'' Tyus joked.

One thing both Jones brothers are looking forward to: playing against each other in the NBA.

"That's the whole goal.'' Tyus said. "That's been a goal of ours, to both be in the NBA, to play against each other. So we're working towards that.''

After a slow beginning against Golden State, the Wolves surged back, but the Warriors' superstar went on a shooting tear in the final four minutes.
