A pickup truck cut into path of a car in a collision at a central Minnesota intersection that killed the passenger in the smaller vehicle, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 5:30 p.m. Saturday on the eastern edge of Westport, about 12 miles west of Sauk Centre, according to the State Patrol.

Killed in the crash was Larry A. Kuseske, 71, of nearby Villard. The patrol said he was not wearing his seat belt at the time of impact.

His wife, 70-year-old Susan K. Kuseske, was driving their car at the time and suffered noncritical injuries, the patrol added. The pickup driver, 20-year-old Dominic J. Marthaler, of Sauk Centre, was not injured. Both were wearing their seat belts, the patrol said.

Marthaler was driving south on 110th Avenue, entered the intersection with Hwy. 218 and was hit by the Kuseskes' eastbound car, which had the right of way, according to the patrol.
