A pickup truck driver who collided with a compact car at a rural Carver County intersection last week has died, authorities said Thursday.

The crash occurred in late afternoon on Nov. 30 at Hwy. 7 and County Road 123, about 5 miles south of Watertown, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner.

The pickup driver was identified as Paul A. Wren, 83, of nearby Mayer. Wren died from head injuries on Wednesday at Hennepin County Medical Center, the medical examiner said. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Wren was driving north on County Road 123, entered the intersection and was hit by a Toyota Prius, which had the right of way, the patrol said.

The car's driver, Timothy V. LePage, 53, of Waverly, Minn., was hospitalized in Waconia with injuries that were not life threatening. LePage was wearing his seat belt.
