September 4, 2015 at 11:44PM

The name of a Coon Rapids man killed Thursday when the speedboat he was driving capsized on the Mississippi River in Champlin was released Friday by the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.

Lorne Jon Lindberg, 72, of Coon Rapids, died of blunt-force injuries suffered in the one-boat crash, the medical examiner said.

Rescuers were called to Mississippi Point Park about 4 p.m. on a report of a person in the water. They pulled Lindberg, the boat's lone occupant, to shore. He died at the scene.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
