Fans interact, and players react

The crowd was a healthy size, but not as big as Saturday. But Sunday's fans definitely were more interactive on what turned out to be yet another sun-pounding 80-some degree day. A number of fans yelled out to cornerback Xavier Rhodes. One fan gave him a heads-up on what $70 million can do to a man's hunger. Another simply yelled, "Xavier Rhodes! Viking for life!" Later, a fan yelled "Sic 'em, Sack Daddy!" as the defensive line was getting into position before the snap. From his three-point stance at right end, Everson Griffen acknowledged the outburst with a wave.

Bradford, Diggs diaied in for TD

A day after struggling to connect on the deep ball with Laquon Treadwell, quarterback Sam Bradford showed what can happen when he's in sync with a receiver. During an 11-on-11 session, Diggs made a beautiful cut on cornerback Trae Waynes. With Waynes and safeties Harrison Smith and Andrew Sendejo all crowded around Diggs, Bradford launched a ball about 50 yards. It came down perfectly as Diggs ignored the traffic around him en route to a 69-yard touchdown.

Time to get down

For the third consecutive day, backup left tackle Rashod Hill had to step in for the injured Riley Reiff. In the first team session of the day, Hill was reminded that he sometimes plays a tad too high in his stance. On a running play, defensive tackle Tom Johnson easily undercut Hill and stonewalled running back Dalvin Cook at the line of scrimmage.

Standing his ground

A question mark on offense is whether C.J. Ham has enough size and power to make the transition to fullback from running back. He looked the part on at least one particular play. In a team session, rookie linebacker Ben Gedeon came crashing through the middle of the line on a blitz. Ham used exceptional technique and delivered a blow that sent Gedeon flying far from the quarterback. Standing nearby, running backs coach Kennedy Polamalu screamed, "That's how you do it!"

Camp chatter

"Congratulations, Xavier! Can you sign again over here?"

— A young, astute autograph seeker upon spotting Rhodes hopping on his bike as news was breaking that the cornerback had just signed his mega contract extension.

Injury report

RB Jerick McKinnon was back in pads but only participated in individual drills. … DE Ifeadi Odenigbo, a rookie seventh-round draft pick, did not practice after injuring his right leg Saturday. … LB Kentrell Brothers didn't practice again; he appeared to pull his left hamstring on Friday. … Reiff missed practice for the third day in a row.
