The Vikings are expected to hire former UCLA offensive coordinator Kennedy Polamalu as running backs coach, per multiple reports.

Polamalu, who played fullback collegiately at USC, was the offensive coordinator at UCLA for only the 2016 season and was not retained.

He coached at the NFL level from 2004 to 2009, overseeing the running backs in Cleveland in 2004 then coaching the same position in Jacksonville.

Kevin Stefanski coached Adrian Peterson and the Vikings running backs in 2016 after coaching tight ends in 2014 and 2015. With Pat Shurmur now the full-time offensive coordinator and Polamalu reportedly joining Mike Zimmer's staff, the Vikings could shift Stefanski back to tight ends.

The Sporting News first reported the Polamalu news this morning.
