For Valentine's Day, we here at Vita.mn decided on an ambitious experiment: to seek out the most fascinating and eligible single people in the Twin Cities, with help from our online users. What do we mean by "eligible"? You know -- someone with that indelible combination of personality, substance and, of course, hotness. Someone who is still available -- maybe because there is no justice in the dating scene, but more likely because they're just so fabulous that they haven't been able to settle yet.

Know anyone like that? Readers did, nominating dozens of their hot single friends of all genders and persuasions. From there we produced 39 finalists, who were voted on by vita.mn users and our judging committee. More than 1,200 votes later, a narrow consensus was reached for one bachelor and one bachelorette winner, whom you'll meet on the next pages.

We're honestly impressed with all of the bachelor/ettes who had the guts to put themselves out there for this -- or at least had a great friend willing to give them a shove. It has renewed our faith in the quality of Twin Cities singles.

Frankly, we kind of want to date all of them.
